
2022 Budget: Buhari To Spend N1.6bn On New Vehicles For State House, by Kabir Abdulsalam
President Muhammadu Buhari has a plan to spend N1.6billion in the 2022 Budget on new vehicles for the Presidency.
This is part of the Budget figures the President signed on the last day of last year, as obtained by Economic Confidential.
The President had allocated the sum of N436 million for the same purpose in the 2021 budget.
According to the Budget documents at our disposal, N1.9billion was allocated for fixed assets (general) which includes the 1.6bn for new vehicles, purchase of office furnitures and fitting at N69,656,180 million; purchase of library books and equipment with the sum of N31,585,505 million; while the cost of N34,155,787 is allocated for purchase of sporting /gaming equipment.
About N170,084,550 is provided for purchase of tyres for bulletproof vehicles, plain cars, CCU vehicles, platform trucks, jeeps, ambulances and wither utility and operational vehicles.
Meanwhile, the State House also allocated the sum of N19,089,500 for the maintenance of motor vehicle/ transport equipment.
