Baze University Appoints New Vice-Chancellor, Registrar

 

Baze University has announced the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar following what it described as a rigorous and competitive selection process.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Founder of the institution, Datti Baba-Ahmed, approved the appointments on behalf of the Board.

According to the announcement, Abiodun Adeniyi has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor, effective May 6, 2026. In the same vein, Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi has been named Registrar, also effective the same date.

Professor Adeniyi, a scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, takes over from his previous role as Registrar of the University. He is succeeded by Lawi, who until his appointment served as Director of Human Resources.

The university noted that both appointees have spent over a decade in service, demonstrating commitment, professionalism, and loyalty to the institution.

The Board of Trustees expressed confidence in the ability of the new leadership to steer the university toward achieving its academic and administrative goals. It stated that the appointments would help strengthen the institution’s academic standing while enhancing administrative efficiency.

The university described the appointments as a reflection of its commitment to merit-based leadership, continuity, and sustained institutional growth.

Members of the university community have extended congratulations to the new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, while urging staff and stakeholders to support them as they assume their new roles.
