For the two major conferences to hold in the country in 2014, the Federal Government will spend N11 billion. The much talked about National Conference will consume N7 billion while the remaining N4billion is earmarked for hosting the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The 2014 estimates also include N30million meant for fuelling aircraft and boats owned by Nigerian embassies abroad. Incidentally, no Nigerian embassy is known to own either an aircraft of boat.
The missions where the aircraft and boat were located include d’Ivoire, Ghana, Ethiopia, Algeria, and Mali.
Other missions where the money would be spent include Turkey, Lebanon, and United Arab Emirate.
In addition, there was another proposal for about N872.46million to be spent on generator fuel costs in foreign missions across the world in 2014.
Strangely, some of these embassies are located in cities where there is hardly electricity failure like New York, Washington and London and Johannesburg.
