The Committee of Friends for Humanity (COFFHA) has announced the investiture of Mrs. Augustine Igbokwe as its new President alongside the launch of a ₦300 million fundraising campaign for the completion of a Skill Acquisition Centre aimed at empowering youths, women, and underserved communities.
The organisation disclosed the developments in a statement, describing them as major milestones in its humanitarian and community development efforts.
According to COFFHA, Mrs. Igbokwe will be formally invested as President of the organisation on Sunday, June 14, 2026, under the theme, “Build the Future, Today.”
The organisation said the investiture marks a significant chapter in its leadership transition and expressed optimism that the incoming president would bring renewed vision, energy, and commitment to humanitarian service.
COFFHA noted that Mrs. Igbokwe’s emergence reflects the organisation’s dedication to compassionate and purposeful leadership, citing her experience and passion for community development as key qualities that position her for the role.
“Her wealth of experience and deep passion for humanitarian service position her exceptionally well to guide the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact,” the statement said.
The group invited members, partners, supporters, and the general public to participate in the investiture ceremony, adding that details of the venue and programme would be communicated through its official channels and website.
In a related development, COFFHA announced the commencement of a fundraising drive to complete and equip its proposed Skill Acquisition Centre.
The organisation said the facility is designed to provide vocational training and economic empowerment opportunities for young people, women, and vulnerable members of society.
According to the statement, the organisation is seeking to raise ₦300 million through donations and partnerships with individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and faith-based groups.
COFFHA explained that the centre, when completed, would equip beneficiaries with practical and marketable skills capable of promoting self-reliance and reducing poverty.
“Every contribution, no matter the amount, is a direct investment in the lives of people who need it most. When communities come together, transformation follows,” the organisation stated.
It urged interested supporters and donors to visit its official website or contact designated phone lines for further information on the investiture ceremony and fundraising campaign.
