Husk Power Charges Energy Players on Best Practices after Winning FELAS Award
With Nigeria pushing to expand energy access to meet its renewable energy targets, Husk Power Systems, a leading energy tech company, is urging industry players to prioritize compliance with global best practices.
The call comes after Husk Power recently won the Technovator award (under the renewable energy category) at the Future Energy Leaders Awards (FELAS) 2026 in New Delhi, India.
The FELAS, India’s biggest energy sector award show, recognizes pioneers in green hydrogen, renewables, and sustainability.
According to the awarding organisation, Enersider Markets Media (Enersider), Husk Power was recognized for “standing out” through its efforts in advancing energy access, boosting local incomes, and shaping a greener future in Africa and Asia.
Vandana Majumdar, Head of Content and Product, in a email announcing the award, said: “Your achievement truly stands out, and we are thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved honour with you.”
With Nigeria’s renewable energy market poised for growth with the country aiming to generate 30% of its electricity from renewables by 2030, industry leaders like Husk Power are emphasizing the importance of compliance.
“We dedicate this award to companies that prioritize compliance with global best practices,” said Olu Aruike, Country Director, Nigeria, and VP Business Development West Africa, Husk Power. “This commitment to excellence sets a standard for us since our establishment in 2008.”
Aruike noted that compliance has driven Husk Power’s growth, earned trust, and guided expansion from Asia to Africa. “For emerging companies, adopting this mind-set is the only way to true growth and scale, especially in dynamic markets.”
As climate change pressures mount, Nigeria’s energy sector is critical to reducing emissions.
Husk Power’s AI-enabled distributed energy resources (DER) platform delivers clean energy to unserved and underserved communities.
“As a tech-forward organisation backed by artificial intelligence (AI), we will continue in our quest to deploy solar and storage solutions that enable 24/7 power, seamless operations, fast scalability, and long-term value as we join forces with other development partners to address the 600M energy deficit in Africa, and beyond,” Aruike said.
