Office of the Tax Ombud, Lagos State Govt Forge Tax Fairness Partnership

‎The Chief Executive Officer of the Office of the Tax Ombud, Dr. John Nwabueze, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu at the State House Marina in Lagos, reinforcing ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration on tax administration and taxpayer protection.

‎During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu pledged the Lagos State Government’s readiness to work closely with the Office of the Tax Ombud to promote fairness, enhance transparency, and provide clearer guidance for taxpayers across the state.
‎
‎The governor noted that Dr. Nwabueze’s professional experience and strong commitment to transparency would play a critical role in deepening public trust in the tax system and addressing longstanding concerns about tax processes and dispute resolution.
‎
‎“I look forward to the role he will play in supporting a more accountable and citizen-focused approach to taxation,” the governor said.

‎The visit is seen as part of broader institutional engagements aimed at improving tax governance, strengthening compliance through trust-building, and ensuring that taxpayers have accessible channels for resolving grievances within the system.
