With N651.1bn, Lagos IGR for 2022 Surpasses 25 States Put Together

The Lagos state government generated a total sum of 651.1 billion naira in 2022 which surpassed the total figure generated by four geo-political zones of 25 states put together.
According to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday, the Lagos figure was higher than the combined figures of North Central, Northwest, Southeast and Northeast which was N639.3bn.

The NBS report stated that the North-central generated N246.4 billion; north-west, N186.4 billion; south-east N114.5 billion; and north-east zone closed the year with N92 billion.
The 25 states whose combined IGR could not meet up with that of Lagos therefore include FCT (N124.4bn), Kwara (N35.8bn), Kogi (N18.2bn), Niger (N16.9bn), Nasarawa (N19.3bn), Benue (N15.9bn), Plateau ( N15.9bn), Kaduna (N58.1bn), Kano (N42.5bn), Jigawa (N20.5bn), Zamfara (N19.4bn), Kebbi (N9.1bn), Sokoto (N23.6bn) Katsina (N13bn), Anambra (N33.9bn), Imo (N19.3bn), Enugu (N28.7bn), Ebonyi (12.4bn), Abia (N20.1bn), Borno (N19.1bn), Adamawa (N13.2bn), Yobe (N10.5bn), Bauchi (N25.5bn), Gombe (N13.6bn) and Taraba (N10.2bn).
