FG Warns MDAs to Cut Governance Cost, End Wastage
The Ministry of finance has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies to reduce wastages, block leakages and cut costs in governance.
The Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr. Okokon Udo, during a sturdy tour to the ministry said cost-cutting is necessary to rebuild the economy.

According to a press statement by the Ministry’s Director, Press & Public Relations, Stephen Kilebi, on Wednesday, read “The Permanent Secretary Special Duties, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr. Okokon Udo said government at all levels are faced with the challenge of lean economic resources whereas, the needs of the citizenry are on the increase, hence the need for the establishment of the efficiency unit by the Federal Government to reduce wastages, block leakages and cut costs in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies.”

The study tour was led by Dr. Agot James by a delegation from Nasarawa State’s Ministry of Finance.
The statement also noted that Udo said that a purpose-driven economy must harness all economic building tools to achieve its aim.
It was also noted that the Federal Government established the Efficiency Unit at the federal level, which will harness all that the government has and prudently manage it to have a robust economy.
He further urged government officers at all levels to need to imbibe the culture of efficiency by spending government resources in a more productive manner.
