JUST IN: CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, Not Sacked

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, has not been sacked.

Emefiele was rumoured to have been sacked earlier on Wednesday by President Muhammadu Buhari over his purported presidential ambition.

A staff at the CBN information office, who asked not to be named, said: “Emefiele is still very much in charge at the Central Bank Headquarters. There is no threat of a sack.”

He called on the public to disregard the fake news of his sack.
