NSE Records Marginal Gain, Grows By N1bn
Transactions on the floor of the Nigeria Stock Exchange on Wednesday recorded a marginal gain to sustain a positive outlook.
However, the NSE- All Share Index closed flat with the market breath closing positive with 14 gainers against 11 losers.
Consequently, the All-Share Index appreciated by 0.29 basis points or 0.001 per cent to close at 28,344.33 index points as against 28,344.04 recorded the previous trading session.
Market capitalisation of equities grew by N1bn from N14.814tn the previous day to N14.815tn as market sentiment remained in the positive territory.
Meanwhile, a turnover of 218.42 million shares exchanged in 3,896 deals was recorded in the day’s trading.

The premium sub-sector was the most active (measured by turnover volume); with 112.25 million shares exchanged by investors in 1,406 deals.
The volume in the sub-sector was largely driven by activities in the shares of UBA Plc and Zenith Bank Plc.
Also, the banking subsector boosted by the activities in the shares of Ecobank Plc and GTBank Plc followed with a turnover of 60.10 million shares in 895 deals.
Further analyses of the day’s trading showed that in percentage terms, Eterna Oil Plc topped the day’s gainers’ table with 9.82 per cent to close at N4.81 per share.
Academy Press Plc followed with 7.41 per cent to close at 29 kobo per share.
Africa Prudential Plc added five per cent to close at N5.70 per share.
On the flip side, E-transact Plc led the losers’ with a drop of 9.91 per cent to close at N1.91 per share while Wema Bank Plc shed 5.17 per cent to close at 55 kobo per share.
Courtville Business Solution Plc trailed with 4.76 per cent to close at 20 kobo per share.
