The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its ongoing nationwide strike over its face-off with the Dangote Group.

The federal government has commenced meeting with the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and representatives of the Dangote refinery as part of efforts to mediate the dispute between both parties.

The Federal Government has appealed to the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to shelve their planned nationwide strike against the Dangote Group, urging that dialogue remains the most effective way to resolve the dispute.

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), a prominent branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), have launched an attack on the union’s national leadership, calling for immediate arrest of key executives.
