According to Operation Whirlwind Zone A, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the insecurity in Borno State has made it impossible for its operatives to tackle petrol smugglers of petrol. 

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has assured that the Service is committed to implementing the directive of President Bola Tinubu to remove tariffs and import duties on key food staples for the next six months. 

The Federal Government will be suspending import duties on rice, flour, wheat, and other essential food items in an effort to reduce the high costs of food amidst widespread hunger in Nigeria.
