Over 1,000 Startups, 300 Investors Expected at GITEX Nigeria

‎The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has announced that the upcoming GITEX Nigeria 2025 flagship event will host over 1,000 startups, 300 global investors, and up to 20,000 participants from across the world.

‎Speaking at the North-Central edition of the GITEX Nigeria Startup Regional Roadshow in Abuja, Inuwa said the flagship gathering, scheduled for September 1st to 4th in Lagos and Abuja, will spotlight Nigeria as a continental hub for digital innovation.

‎He was represented at the event by NITDA’s Director of IT Infrastructure Solutions, Oladejo Olawunmi.

‎“This Roadshow is not just about recognition. It is about building a bridge between Nigeria’s digital talent and immense global opportunities. GITEX is a springboard into the global tech ecosystem,” Inuwa said.

‎He urged Nigerian startups to pitch boldly and network widely to attract investment and partnerships.

‎With the theme, “Bridging Nigeria’s Innovation with Global Opportunities,” the Abuja leg of the Roadshow brought together tech entrepreneurs, investors, and innovation stakeholders from across the North-Central region.

‎Over 20 startups pitched their solutions across sectors like HealthTech, AgriTech, AI, FinTech, EdTech, and ClimateTech.

‎Victoria Fabunmi, the National Coordinator of the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI), a NITDA subsidiary, said the Roadshow demonstrates the agency’s commitment to empowering indigenous technology enterprises to move “from local relevance to global relevance.”

‎She emphasized that ONDI is working to coordinate Nigeria’s digital innovation ecosystem through policy, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic partnerships.

‎“We’re excited to be working with the Dubai World Trade Centre to ensure that GITEX is successfully hosted in Nigeria,” she added.

‎Startups including Bridge Pay, HiPrep, and BlinkCore Tech Limited showcased their innovations before a panel of industry experts.

‎The event also served as a platform to select standout ventures that will feature at the main GITEX Nigeria event in September.

‎Inuwa noted that Nigeria is the first country to host a national edition of GITEX outside the UAE, a milestone that positions it as a tech powerhouse on the African continent.

‎He called on investors and partners to engage deeply with Nigerian innovation and be part of the country’s journey into the global digital economy.

‎The GITEX Nigeria 2025 Roadshow continues across other geopolitical zones under the broader theme: “Unveiling Innovation. Connecting Ecosystems. Showcasing Nigeria to the World.”
