PRCAN Knowledge Hub to Equip Communicators with AI Skills for Digital Disruption — Ali-Balogun

The Chairperson of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, has described the forthcoming PRCAN Knowledge Hub as a timely and strategic intervention designed to equip communication professionals with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies.

Speaking to Spokespersons Digest, Dr. Ali-Balogun said the initiative comes at a critical moment when rapid technological shifts, algorithmic influence, and digital volatility are reshaping the public relations landscape.

According to her, the Knowledge Hub, themed “AI-Driven Strategic Communication: Mastering Algorithmic Disruption and Digital Volatility,” is structured to empower government, regulatory, and corporate communicators to transform digital chaos into measurable strategic advantage.

The Knowledge Hub will feature an impressive lineup of facilitators, including Karl Haechler, CEO of Burson Africa with extensive global and African communication market experience; Ayeni Adekunle, Founder and CEO of Black House Media; Tomiwa Aladekomo, CEO of TechCabal; and Ms. Mojisola Saka, Chief Engagement and Experience Officer at Boucles Africa.

Ali-Balogun, Ph.D, who is the Founder/CEO, NECCI Consults explained that participants will gain practical insights into deploying Artificial Intelligence tools for real-time social listening, predictive issue tracking, and ESG-aligned storytelling aimed at protecting and strengthening institutional reputation.

“The communications environment is no longer linear. Algorithms shape narratives, misinformation spreads instantly, and reputations can be altered within minutes. This Knowledge Hub is designed to help professionals anticipate, adapt, and lead in this new era,” she stated.

The sub-theme, “Rewriting the PR Playbook: AI-Driven Storytelling, Media Intelligence & Reputation Management,” will explore how data analytics, automated media intelligence, and AI-powered content strategies can be integrated into modern communication frameworks.

Dr. Ali-Balogun called on public relations practitioners, spokespersons, and strategic communicators across sectors to seize the opportunity to upgrade their competencies and remain competitive in an increasingly digital-driven ecosystem.

“Human capital must evolve alongside technology. This is not optional anymore; it is imperative,” she emphasized.

The event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. While participation is limited, special consideration will be given to early applicants who register within the first week of March.

Spokespersons Digest reports that the programme is expected to attract senior communication executives, corporate affairs directors, policy communicators, and media strategists seeking to reposition their institutions for resilience in an era defined by artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

PRCAN is the official trade sectoral group for public relations consulting firms in Nigeria, established in 1984 and chartered by NIPR Bye-Law No. 3 of 1993. It regulates, sets standards for, and promotes the ethical practice of PR consulting, serving as the voice for the industry and a regulatory body for member firms.
