Nigeria Invests €48m to Boost Renewable Energy Programme, Says NESP
The Component Lead, Enabling Environment Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), Joshua Yari, revealedthat Nigeria has invested €48 million in the second phase of its energy support programme.
Yari disclosed this at a one-day energy summit organised by the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) in collaboration with Abloom Trust Nigeria Ltd on Wednesday in Abuja with the theme: “Prospects of Energy Transition Plan”.
He noted that the programme was co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
He said that the Nigerian government would also be investing about €19m in the third phase.
In his remarks, the Director General of ECN, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, said that collaborating with stakeholders was crucial to achieving goals of energy transition in the country.
