NCBN, Youths Digest Unveil Paid Internship, Ambassadorial Offer For Students

The Nigeria Customs Broadcasting Network, NCBN, in partnership with Youths Digest, has rolled out a paid internship for talented campus journalists and student-writers.

Applicants selected for the 3-months paid internship stand a chance to work at NCBN Abuja Headquarters or any other branch of the broadcasting network nationwide.

“They will also be inducted as NCBN’s Student Ambassador,” said Mr Edirin Jerry Wesley, Managing Director, NCBN.

To win the internship, applicants are required to write a short essay on: “What would you change about Nigeria’s media law and mention why you should be chosen for the internship.

On how interested campus journalists and student-writers can enter the contest, Mr Wesley explained: “[They] should comment on the post. They should then follow NCBN on Twitter, Instagram @ncbn_ng and Facebook @ncbnng. They should also subscribe to youtube @NCBN Media House and tag their friends to vote [by liking] for their comments.

“Again, the friends must be following the social media handles and must have subscribed to YouTube. The highest likes would emerge to the final stage with the final decision to be made by an editorial panel at NCBN. The winners will be announced at our 2020 edition of Campus Journalism Awards.”

Mr Wesley noted that persons who wish to witness the CJA event, but are unable to travel due to the COVID-19 restriction, can stream it on the NCBN YouTube channel or watch NCBN channel 193 on StarTimes.
