‎Lagos Tops Global Ranking of Fastest-Growing Emerging Tech Ecosystems

‎Lagos has been ranked the world’s fastest-growing emerging technology ecosystem, outperforming major innovation hubs across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, according to the Global Tech Ecosystem Index (GTEI) 2025 released by Dealroom.

‎The Nigerian commercial capital secured the top position in the World’s Top 20 Fastest-Growing Emerging Tech Ecosystems, reinforcing its status as Africa’s undisputed tech powerhouse and a rising global innovation hub.
‎
‎Following Lagos on the list are Istanbul, Turkey, and Pune, India, which ranked second and third respectively. Other notable cities in the top 10 include Belo Horizonte and Curitiba in Brazil, Mumbai and Chennai in India, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Johannesburg in South Africa, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

‎The ranking reflects rapid growth in startup formation, venture capital activity, talent density, and ecosystem maturity, particularly in cities outside traditional global tech capitals.
