KEDCO at Customers’ Service Week Commits to Efficient Service Delivery

The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has again reiterated its commitment to efficient service delivery to its customers cut across its franchise areas.
The commitment was made during the customers’ service week observed by KEDCO. The week is an international celebration of the importance of customers and the staff who serve and support customers on daily basis and it’s celebrated annually in the first week of October.
The theme for this year’s customer service is “The Magic of Service”.
The theme recognizes that good service is magical and can turn an unhappy customer into a satisfied long term customer.
During the course of the week-long event, KEDCO leveraged the opportunity to educate customers on energy conservation and MAP scheme as well as visiting various communities to sensitise them on the need to support the power sector reforms in the country.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to various communities in KEDCO franchise areas, KEDCO also sensitize customers on various safety measures particularly as the dry season sets in.
Also, as part of our culture of showing love to our customers to tell them it’s all about them, the management and staff with customers cut a special cake to commemorate the week.
In his remark to mark the event, the MD/CEO, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna restated the company’s commitment to becoming the best service delivery DisCo, noting that the customers continued patronage and commitment to payment of bills remained the best gift that any DisCo would wish for.
“Our customers in KEDCO franchise areas have been very good and supportive. In spite the attitude of some customers to paying bills, there are those who have made our jobs easier through payment of bills. We may sometimes express concerns over non-payment of bills but that doesn’t mean we don’t value them.
“They are the reason we are in business and we will remain in business because of them. This is a time to also appreciate all those communities who have been very protective of our equipment in rural areas.
This is commendable to know that we have customers who are beginning to partner for the progress of not just KEDCO but power sector in Nigeria”.
Gwamna stated that each year KEDCO welcome customers on a special forum to give extra thanks, show gratitude and give back to the communities the message and care to show that KEDCO love them.
He appealed to customers to use the week to renew their relations with KEDCO with a view to ensuring they pay their bills to sustain the current improvement in power supply that is being witness in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States.
