Imo Tops States with Highest IGR Growth Between 2019 and 2022 – NBS

Data released on Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has listed ten states with the highest Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) growth between 2019 and 2022.
The states had a combined IGR of N187.1bn in 2019 and N328.6bn in 2022.
The NBS breakdown shows the states below as the ones with the highest IGR growth between 2019 and 2022.
Imo State generated a total sum of N6.2 billion and N19.3 billion as internally generated revenue in 2019 and 2022 respectively, signifying a 213% increase.
Oyo State came close with 134% increase in IGR. The state raked in N26.6bn and N62.2bn in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
Next is Borno state with the growth of 133% between 2019 and 2022, generating N8.2bn and N19.1bn respectively.
Bauchi state generated N12.3 billion and N25.5 billion as IGR in 2019 and 2022 respectively with an increase of 107%.
Gombe state raked in N6.8 billion and N13.6 billion in 2019 and 2022 respectively, putting the IGR growth at a 99% rate.
Jigawa State increased it’s IGR growth by 59%, generating N12.9 billion and N20.5 billion in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
Taraba State had an increase of 57% in the state’s IGR, generating N6.5 billion and N10.2 billion in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
Katsina State built it’s IGR growth with 54% increase, raking in N8.5 billion and N13 billion in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
Ogun State came 9th in the list with a growth increase of 48% between 2019 and 2022, generating N81.4 billion in 2019 and N120.6 billion in 2022.
The last of the list is Osun State as it recorded a 39% increase in their IGR, generating N17.7 billion and N24.6 billion in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
