NDIC Launches Special Help Desk for Microfinance Banks

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has established a Special Help Desk for depositors, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders of microfinance banks (MFBs) and primary Mortgage institutions (PMIs) in Nigeria.

The Special Help Desk was established to complement the NDIC’s existing Help Desk as part of the efforts to enhance public awareness on the mandate and activities of the Corporation.

The establishment of the Special Help Desk, which is located at Special Insured Institutions Department (SIID) in NDIC Office, Lagos is to effectively address enquiries, complaints and petitions by depositors and other stakeholders on timely and continuous basis.

In addition, the Special Help Desk is to provide a platform for whistle blowers who may want to volunteer confidential information to the Corporation on Unethical or any other malpractices by the operators of the MFBs.
