FG Integrates N2.3trn Stimulus Fund In Development Plan
The Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has said the N2.3 trillion Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP) stimulus package meant to cushion the COVID-19 effects has been integrated into the Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP).
The minister, who stated this on Thursday in Abuja during a press conference on the development plan for 2021-2025, said the fundamentals of the macroeconomic framework for the Medium Term Plan 2021-2025 were brought into focus and incorporated so that immediate implementation can begin.
President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2019 during the Democracy Day celebrations said the government would lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty onto the path of prosperity in the next 10 years, implying an average of 10 million people annually.
The minister said government policies in the outgoing decade had been predicated on the Nigeria Vision (NV) 20:2020, which is being implemented through the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017- 2020 which ends in December.
