The Bayero University, Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA) has concluded arrangements for its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), set to be a memorable reunion for graduates of the institution.

Ahead of the event, the Association’s leadership, led by its President, Alhaji Shuaibu Idris Mikati, mni, FCIoD, paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar, Malam Haruna Aliyu, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, where they briefed him on preparations and activities lined up.

Alhaji Mikati disclosed that the celebration will open with a Grand Dinner on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Convocation Arena, New Campus. The AGM proper will follow the next day, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., featuring a keynote lecture on Corporate Governance to be delivered by Ambassador Shuaibu Adamu Ahmad.

He described the lecture as timely, noting that Ambassador Ahmad serves on the Federal Government’s Steering Committee tasked with securing approval of the National Code of Corporate Governance—an initiative considered pivotal for transparency and accountability in both the public and private sectors.

Also speaking, the Association’s Vice President, Aare Akunkumi Akinyemi, applauded the Registrar and University management for their consistent support, stressing that the partnership between the University and its alumni remains a solid pillar of growth.

In his response, the Registrar, Malam Haruna Aliyu, lauded BUKAA for its commitment to strengthening the University’s image and development. He reaffirmed that alumni play a vital role in creating mentorship platforms, driving knowledge sharing, and promoting strategic collaborations. He further revealed that following the AGM, the University would invite BUKAA executives for wider discussions on deepening partnerships to advance Bayero University’s future.

The 2025 AGM is expected to draw a distinguished audience, including the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Air Vice Marshal Saddik Isma’ila Kaita (rtd), the Vice Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, principal officers of the University, and other eminent personalities.

Organisers say the gathering will offer alumni an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate shared memories, and contribute to sustaining the legacy and growth of Bayero University, Kano.
