According to the Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF), decades of unchecked and inadequately monitored mineral extraction as well as the growing consequences of climate change have posed great ecological challenges to Nigeria. 

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) is urging the federal government to develop measures that will stabilise food prices, enhance food security, and alleviate the economic burden on Nigerians.

According to Chief Oludare Adekolu, the National Chairman of the Association of Greenfield Rice Producers, Marketers and Entrepreneurs (AGRIPMENT), Nigeria has the capacity to produce far more rice than what obtains at present if genuine producers get adequate support.
