We’ll Deliver on Tinubu’s Mandate on Affordable Housing – FHA Boss, Ashafa
The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has said it would address the country’s housing deficit to fulfil President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to deliver affordable housing to poor Nigerians.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, said this at the groundbreaking ceremony of FHA Golden Jubilee Estate at Mbora II District, Abuja.
Senator Ashafa hailed the President’s pro-poor mindset, saying the agency under his watch won’t disappoint him.
“The President mandated us to provide mortgage to every Nigerian. We must abide by the President’s charge to help the poor. He said we should stop the cash and carry business of housing, saying it brings about elite corruption that alienates the poor.

“We will go back to the mandate of Mr. President. We will provide mortgages.
“We remain committed to our core mandate of providing housing for the citizens,” he said.
Ashafa noted the estate will contribute 7,000 units to Nigerians.
He said FHA will begin with 1,200 units through public-private partnership with Nuga Best Regis International.
He noted that the estate will have standard infrastructure; secure perimeter, reliable power and water, good roads and security.
“The estate will be serviced with standard infrastructure. This includes secure perimeter, reliable power and water, well maintained roads, retail customer defence, law enforcement facilities,” he added
