Naira Redesign: FG Trying to Beautify a Worthless Currency – Pastor Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has knocked the Federal Government over its decision to redesign the Naira in the midst of it’s declining worth against other currencies.
Adeboye said this during the church’s November Holy Ghost Service with the theme, ‘Let It Rain’ on Friday night.
He said, “Do you know what is going on in our country? It doesn’t make sense anymore. Our Naira now, it is not even worth the paper it is printed on.
“And while people are hungry, trying to find enough money to buy bread to eat, our bosses are thinking of making the Naira more beautiful.”
The Central Bank Of Nigeria had recently announced plans to redesign the N200, N500, and N1,000 banknotes.
The announcement had generated controversy with the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, criticising the policy and saying she was never consulted before the announcement.
