Anule, Ajefu Others Emerge Leaders of Benue Journalists

The Conference of Benue Journalists (CBJ) has elected a new executive to pilot its affairs, just as the new leaders are to run the organization for the next three years.
CBJ in an election held in Abuja unanimously voted Anule Emmanuel, State House Correspondent for New Telegraph Newspaper as President, while Ewache Ajefu, Editor-in-Chief of the Economic Confidential was elected the Vice President of the group.
The CBJ is an association of professional media practitioners of Benue origin with members spread across the country; and with the sole objective of promoting, projecting and defending the interest of the people and the state in general.

Other executive members elected for the organization are, Mr.Linus Okpeh of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (Secretary), Terhemba Daka, State House Correspondent of Guardian Newspaper (Treasurer), Mr. Ben Ukeji of Champion Newspaper (Welfare/Assistant Secretary) and Mr. Martins Odeh of the News Agency of Nigeria as Public Relations Officer.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee and immediate past President of the Organization, Mr. Emmanuel Iffer in his remarks after the event commended members for the cooperation towards the successful conduct of the election.
Mr. Iffer enjoined CBJ members to rally behind the new executive which will be inaugurated in two weeks time, for the progress of the organization.
In his acceptance speech, the President elect, Mr. Anule expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and other executive members to serve.
Mr.Anule pleaded with members to show commitment in the affairs of the organization and support the leadership in order to uplift CBJ to greater heights.
“We cannot do it alone. We are first among equals. What is expected of all of us is commitment. My election and that of other members of the executive is a success for Benue State,” he noted.
