FAAN Issues Travel Advisory Over Middle East Flight Disruptions

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced flight cancellations and delays to Middle East destinations due to airspace closures.

FAAN stated, “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the travelling public that ongoing airspace closures in parts of the Middle East are currently impacting flight operations to and from the region”.

The disruptions are due to the ongoing tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, which escalated on Saturday.

Airlines like Emirates and Qatar Airways are affected, with some suspending flights to and from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha.

Passengers are advised to contact their airlines for updates on flight status and rebooking options.

FAAN said it is closely monitoring the situation with relevant aviation authorities and airline operators.

The Nigerian government also issued a security advisory to Nigerians in Iran and neighboring Gulf countries amid rising military tensions.
