Dangote Refinery Raises Ex-Depot Petrol Price by N55
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has adjusted its ex-depot petrol price upward to ₦880 per litre, an increase of ₦55 from the previous rate of ₦828.
The new pricing was confirmed by petroleumprice.ng, a daily product pricing platform, and supported by a pro forma invoice issued by the refinery.
The revised price is expected to influence retail fuel costs across the country, with pump prices likely to exceed ₦900 per litre in many locations. Regions far from distribution centres could see even higher prices due to additional transportation and logistics expenses.
This is the latest in a series of price adjustments by the refinery, which began petrol supply to the market earlier this year. The facility has become a significant player in Nigeria’s fuel pricing structure as the country works to reduce dependence on imported refined products.
Industry observers say the increase reflects ongoing volatility in operational costs, including crude sourcing, refining processes, and distribution. The impact is expected to be felt throughout the downstream sector, particularly if marketers are unable to absorb the additional cost.
With inflation already affecting consumer purchasing power, the development adds pressure on households and businesses reliant on petrol for mobility and power generation.
