Presenting the N204,288,000,000 billion estimates to the Governor at the Government House for assent, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Salihu Maidaji said that the figure as proposed was not altered.
Shortly after signing the bill into law, Tambuwal commended the House for the expeditious passage of the bill, promising that “the 2017 budget will perform better than 2016 in terms of implementation.”
He disclosed that in order to enhance internally generated revenue, the state government had reorganized the Board of Internal Board for optimal performance.
Tambuwal added that government would introduce new tax regime that would raise Sokoto’s revenue generation drive without enforcing unbearable taxes on the people of the state.
