FHA Showcases Digital Transformation, Revenue Growth, and Housing Projects at Strategic Workshop
The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, staff welfare, and strategic development, highlighting key achievements and future plans during a three-day workshop titled “Adapting to Change: Exploring Challenges and Breakthroughs in Housing Development Over the Past Year.”
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FHA, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, outlined several milestones attained under his leadership. These include the digitalisation of the Authority’s operations, enhanced internet connectivity, and real-time communication links across its zonal offices.
Hon. Ojo also emphasized the regularization of employment for ad-hoc and physically challenged staff, reflecting the Authority’s inclusive human resource policy. In a bid to improve staff welfare, the MD converted his newly built office complex into additional staff offices, renovated existing facilities, and provided new working tools to boost productivity.
Addressing recent reports of assaults on FHA staff, Ojo issued a stern warning, urging the public to refrain from harassing personnel on duty. “I will rather resign if I don’t get justice for any of my assaulted staff,” he declared.

On the financial front, the MD criticized past practices where contractors allegedly dictated terms to the Authority. He noted that the current management has reviewed and realigned statutory charges to enhance revenue. “Revenue does not come to meet you—you go out to meet revenue,” he said, adding that his direct involvement in revenue enforcement has led to increased income.
This financial turnaround, Ojo explained, has enabled the FHA to consistently pay salaries, implement the minimum wage promptly, and fulfill all staff entitlements—factors that have motivated staff towards greater efficiency and excellence.
Demonstrating a renewed spirit of engagement, Ojo noted that for the first time in years, the FHA participated in the Federal Civil Service Games. He also announced the registration of the FHA Football Team in the 2025 Abuja Amateur League.
Highlighting upcoming projects, the FHA boss listed several initiatives set for commissioning, including 59 shops at Gwarinpa Shopping Mall, 100 housing units at FHA Estate Ajoda in Ibadan, and the Lugbe Shopping Complex in Abuja. He also confirmed payments to contractors at the Bwari project site and plans to reclaim land in Festac Town, Lagos.
The Authority’s Research and Innovation Department, he added, is now fully functional and will soon begin conducting structural integrity tests for FHA and external clients.
The workshop, which followed an earlier management retreat, drew participants from the FHA and its subsidiaries—FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd (FHAMB) and FHA Energy Distribution Company Limited—and provided a platform for reflection, knowledge-sharing, and strategic planning for the year ahead.
