Nnedinma Obioha Visits NITDA, Advocates IT Revolution in South-East
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the ICT policy-implementing arm of the Federal Government, hosted Ms. Nnedinma Obioha, Founder and CEO of Centre Point Multisolutions and Tech Terminal, as she championed the advancement of IT skills among youths in Nigeria’s South-East region.
During the visit, Ms. Obioha, a trailblazer in the tech sector, was received by Hajiya Hadiza Umar FNIPR, Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations at NITDA. Obioha commended the agency for its pivotal role in driving Nigeria’s digital transformation and outlined her mission to expand IT education and opportunities for women and youth.
“Our partnership with NITDA aims to close the digital skills gap, particularly for women in rural areas. By introducing coding and other IT training, we are breaking barriers and opening doors to the global digital economy,” she said.
Obioha also revealed plans to establish an Aptech IT training center in Ebonyi State, which would solidify Centre Point Multisolutions’ presence across all five South-Eastern states. “From our center in Owerri, which has stood as a beacon of IT education for 18 years, to this upcoming facility in Ebonyi, we are ensuring that no youth in the South-East is left behind,” she added.
Hajiya Hadiza Umar FNIPR, speaking on behalf of NITDA, lauded Ms. Obioha’s initiatives while reiterating the agency’s commitment to fostering technological innovation nationwide. She emphasized that NITDA’s strategic programs, including the ongoing 3MTT initiative, aim to empower Nigerians equitably, regardless of their location.
“The South-East has always been a priority for NITDA. Through our programs, we are committed to creating opportunities for inclusive economic growth driven by technology,” said Hajiya Umar. She noted that the agency’s vision aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s eight-point development agenda.
Hajiya Umar further assured that NITDA remains ready to collaborate with key stakeholders like Ms. Obioha to deepen the reach of its initiatives. “Your efforts align with our mandate, and we are confident that this partnership will inspire more youth to embrace the opportunities presented by the tech industry,” she added.
Nnedinma Obioha described the South-East as a region rich in talent and potential, poised to drive Nigeria’s technological evolution. “The youth of this region have the creativity and determination needed to lead Africa’s digital revolution, and with NITDA’s support, the possibilities are endless.”
With NITDA’s robust support and Ms. Obioha’s visionary leadership, the South-East is set to emerge as a hub of technological innovation, contributing to Nigeria’s ICT landscape and global competitiveness.
