
Finally, Port Harcourt Refinery Begins Operation
The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has officially announced the commencement of crude oil processing at the Port Harcourt Refinery, situated in the heart of Rivers State.
The development was confirmed by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Femi Soneye, on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s quest for energy independence and economic prosperity.
As elucidated by Soneye, the refinery is poised to operate at 60 percent capacity, processing a substantial 60,000 barrels per day.
Soneye noted that the development is a testament to the unwavering commitment and unrelenting efforts of the NNPCL, under the visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu, the NNPC Board led by Mele Kyari.
In a statement replete with optimism and enthusiasm, Soneye exclaimed, “Today marks a monumental achievement for Nigeria as the Port Harcourt Refinery officially commences crude oil processing. This groundbreaking milestone signifies a new era of energy independence and economic growth for our nation.”
He further extended his heartfelt congratulations to the aforementioned leaders, acknowledging their pivotal role in reshaping Nigeria’s energy future.
In addition to this groundbreaking development, Soneye also confirmed that truck loading operations will commence forthwith, ensuring a seamless and efficient distribution of refined products.
He also revealed that the NNPCL is working assiduously to revive the Warri Refinery.
