Customs Emerges Most Improved Govt Agency in Nigeria
The Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) has been recognised as the most improved government agency in the recent Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) ranking.
The Comptroller-General of the agency, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, made this known on Tuesday in Abuja during his keynote address on the topic “Facilitating Food Trade Through Efficient Customs Process,” at the 2nd Economic Confidential Lecture.
According to Adeniyi, the NCS has observed a decrease in food prices. This reduction he said, is a direct result of the NCS’s measures to facilitate food imports and reduce associated costs.
Adeniyi attributed these positive outcomes to the NCS’s proactive approach, commitment to factual and data-driven decision making, and leveraging of real-time monitoring measures.
“These strategies have improved operational efficiency, enabled quick decision making, and enhanced the ability to respond to changing market conditions,” he said.
