
Governors Set to Assemble For Broadband Awareness Forum Today
Governors of all states are expected to discuss how to empower citizens with latest telecoms technologies as they attend the maiden edition of Broadband Technical Awareness Forum (BTAF), organized by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) today in Abuja.
The programme, which takes place at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, Hotel in Abuja today will appraise the Nigerian National Broadband Plan (NNBP) 2020-2025, which targets 70 per cent broadband penetration and to cover 90 per cent of the population.

With the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, playing host to the governors under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), some strategic members of State Executive Council, telecom operators, infrastructure companies (InfraCos), strategic partners, investors and other critical stakeholders, will brainstorm on how Nigeria can achieve the expectations of the Nigeria’s digital economy agenda.
It is anticipated that the Forum will confirm government commitments to adopt broadband structures and last-mile projects, especially economic viability of broadband deployments beyond the cities, along with a strategic focus on funding models and procedures for measurable results.
