
Expert Urges LAGFERRY To Use Tech To Enhance Water Transportation
Software/Web Development team lead, at the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology, Wasiu Jimoh, has urged the need for the State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) to leverage technology in all aspects of its operations to improve water transportation system and impact positively on the economy.
During the LAGFERRY management retreat tagged: “Innovative Water Transportation for a 21st Century Economy”, held at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, Jimoh tasked the company’s management to ensure the deployment and application of latest technologies.
He stressed the need to take an inventory of the existing technology deployment and work towards innovating new ideas to enhance service delivery in the sector of the economy.

According to him, an improved water transportation system using latest technologies would impact positively on the economy of the state.
While, outlining the key areas that would enhance the performance of LAGFERRY, Jimoh suggested a fully-automatic ticketing system utilizing the best payment solutions, the acquisition of ferries that are energy-efficient and monitored in real time, and the introduction of a safety and rescue system that uses CCTV, drones, and unmanned water robots.
