
TCN: Nigeria’s Power Supply Improves to 92,490.1MWh
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) report says Nigeria’s electricity supply on Monday increased by 7% to 92,490.1MWh, compared to Sunday’s value of 86,450.66MWh.
Energy generated also increased by 7% to 93.703.1MWh, from 87,600.87MWh recorded in the previous day.
Nigeria’s electricity supply has been dwindling in recent weeks due to multiple disruptions of the national grid, resulting in widespread blackouts across the country.

During Monday’s peak, the power generating capacity reached 4,193.8MW, up 2.5% from the 4,092.7MW generated the preceding day, while off-generation increased by 37.6% to 3,524MW.
Also, the highest frequency for the day was 51.25Hz, while the lowest frequency was 49.03Hz. Meanwhile, 98.71% of the total energy generated on Monday was sent out, which is higher than the 98.69% sent out in the previous day.
Meanwhile, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has insisted that customers should be billed according to the hours they use electricity, based on the approved tariff band classification, and have the right to contest the tariff band classification they receive.
