Funtua Free Trade Zone ‘ll Drive Economic Activities, Create Jobs- Katsina District Head
The Kanwan Katsina, and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, has commended the Federal Government for setting up a Free Trade Zone in Funtua Local Government of Katsina State.
Alh. Bello Kankara, gave the commendation when he hosted the Managing Director of the Nigeria Export Processing Zone Agency (NEPZA), Prof. Adesoji Adesogba and his entourage, to a dinner in his private residence in Katsina.
According to the traditional ruler, establishing the free trade zone will boost socio-economic activities, while also providing job opportunities to teeming youths of the State.

He used the occasion to advise the NEPZA boss to strengthen the legal framework both at State and Federal Government level so as to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the project.
Prof. Adesogba, who was on an official visit to Katsina State to interact with the state government on arrangement for the take off of the Funtua trade zone, was a 1982 course-mate of the Kanwan Katsina, in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
He expressed delight over the warm reception accorded him and his entourage by his former colleague in the Customs Service.
He said there are two projects slated for Katsina State, which include the Funtua free trade zone and the Katsina medical tourism park.
Adesogba, said the NEPZA team has interacted with the Katsina state government team on the take off of the Funtua free trade zone, adding that a land has already been provided for the project.
