Dantata Foods, Miyetti-Allah Move to Tackle Animal Feeds Shortages
In an effort to end animal feeds shortages in Nigeria, Dantata Foods and Allied Products Limited is collaborating with Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Kano Chapter, to provide affordable feeds product titled “Naruga” to cater for the need of herders in the country.
This was agreed during a partnership meeting between the association and the company to create economic prosperity, mitigate farmer-herder’s conflicts and bring a lasting peace.
This was disclosed in a statement by General Manager, Corporate Services of Dantata Foods & Allied Products Ltd, Sanusi Bature.

Addressing the gathering, Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dantata Foods and Allied Product Limited said, the company has worked out a feed formula that can be affordable for headers in the country to ensure the sufficiency of animal feeds.
“Nigeria’s livestock industry is a huge one and yet we have not harnessed it very well, the grazing reserves have been abused by government and private individuals leaving the herders to their fate”
Alhaji Tajuddeen Dantata also advocated for a conducive policy environment to protect the few grazing reserves available to cater for the needs of nomadic herders in the country.
In his contribution at the partnership meeting, the secretary of the Miyetti Allah Kano state chapter Malam Zubairu Ibrahim who also doubles as the state chairman of All Famers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) expressed worry over the growing allegation on Fulani herdsmen for the banditry ravaging northern Nigeria.
Zubairu urged stakeholders to support the various initiatives aimed at reforming the livestock industry for herders to have value for money of animals they breed to be able to effectively satisfy the domestic demand for meat and dairy.
