Edo Govt Commences Second Phase Of Hydropower Project
The Edo State Government in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation has concluded plans to begin the second phase of the hydropower project.
The Edo State Commissioner for Energy, Mr Akin Agbaje, made this known in a chat with journalists in Benin City, a statement issued by the government on Tuesday said.
Agbaje said the project, which aimed to harness the state’s water resources to generate electricity, had been captured in the 2020 budget.
The commissioner said Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration was committed to exploiting other energy sources to address the power needs of Edo people.
