FERMA Seeks Increased Funding For Road Projects

The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency has called on the Federal Government to provide more funding for road projects.

The Managing Director of the FERMA, Mr Nurudeen Rafindadi said the decline of good roads and increase of bad roads could be linked to inadequate funding.

He made this known in Owerri, Imo State, at the agency’s annual lectures and awards.

Rafindadi stated that budgetary release to the agency had continued to drop, adding that this gave rise to increase in bad stretches along federal highways

A FERMA engineer, Mr Chukwuemeka Maduagwu, urged staff of the agency to ensure that they continued to be dutiful and efficient in their work.

He added that there was no substitute to hardwork.
