Re: President Buhari Set to Marry 2nd Wife
By Jemila Ofoegbu Oboh
It is often ridiculous at the length by which mischief makers could go, to smear the good image of another. These mischief makers in their desperate bid to score cheap political points, condescend low by dishing out falsehood from the pit of hell to deceive the public. Their sponsored false publication just like the one with the above title, speaks volume about their level of indecency, patriotism and their likes. The social media was awash last week with a sensational head line story about President Buhari wanting to marry Sadiq Umar Farouk, the honorable minister for Humanitarian and Disaster management, and former federal commissioner for refugees , migrants and internally displaced people (NCRMI) . The Point-blank news an online blog had published this sensational falsehood.
The publication which went viral on the social media, stated that President Buhari wanted to marry the minister because he likes her food and loves the way he serves him and political associates during the CPC days , as she was very close to them. The jaundiced publication stated that President Buhari’s political associates had mounted pressure on him to marry the federal minister, as they also enjoyed her food and services and considered the first Lady Aisha Buhari who hails from Adamawa , north east, as too loud for the conservative ideologies of the North western fulanis. The publication also stated due to the pressure mounted on President Buhari to take the honourable minister as wife, resulted to her being appointed Head of the commission for refugees, before she was recently made minister and member of the federal executive council (FEC) by the President.
The publication further had it that the first Lady in the waiting, Sadiq Umar Farouk , had used his closeness with the President, to whittle the Vice President’s influence, by making the President strip Osibanjo most of the agencies that were under him to Humanitarian Ministry, which she is heading as Minister, and how the wife of the President Aisha Buhari angrily left Hajj over plots for her husband to marry the minister.
Being an associate of the minister, I make bold to state as follows
That my boss Sadiq Umar Farouk was part of the Buhari support group since the days of the opposition party the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), to the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), before the birth of the All Progressives Congress (APC). That my boss is an ardent follower, and supporter of the Buhari political philosophy. That all through those years President Buhari was in the political wilderness, those who did not abandon him but rather stood firmly with him, were rewarded for their unflinching support, with political appointments.
Some of these beneficiaries are Sariki Abba (Special Assistant on Domestic matters), Yaui Darazzo (Special Assistant on Special Duties), Sharon Ikeazor (Hon Minister of State Environment), Ramatu Tijani (Minister of State FCT). There is Dr Joy Nunieh, who was appointed Rivers State representative in the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). She was part of the Buhari team, just like my boss the Hon Minister and others, since his political journey began.
The Honourable minister is a hard-working lady who had distinguished herself in the Buhari campaign organization over the years. She stood with the President when others left him at some point, without the hope he would ever become President.
As a practicing Moslem, the President is entitled to marry any single woman he so wishes according to the doctrines of the Koran. As such he has no need to do so in private.
It is understandably clear the motive of these mischief makers, which is to strain the good relationship the Hon Minister enjoys with the first family. But unfortunately, that had come to naught with their evil plans unmasked before the public. The so-called wedding event billed to hold at the Central mosque Abuja on Friday by 2,00pm may be had taken place in their weird imagination.
The Hon Minister certainly, will not be perturbed by this development orchestrated by mischief makers, as they are bored out of political jealousy and nothing less.
With the failed marriage last Friday, the mischief makers have been consigned to the dustbin of political history, showing their frustration of being left out of the scheme of things.
Their desperate bid to launch themselves to political reckoning, had hit the political brick walls.
