
KEDCO@6: Gwamna lauds staff, customers, excited over achievements.
As Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) marks its 6th anniversary on Friday Nov. 1, the Managing Director, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has commended the staff and customers of KEDCO for their support and commitment toward having the kind of achievements recorded so far in KEDCO’s six years of operation.
According to him, KEDCO will be 6 years old and there is going to be a grand style celebration to mark the anniversary and appreciate Almighty Allah and all those who have contributed in no small ways to the development of the company.
Gwamna stated that the achievements and good image that the company have been able to achieve couldn’t have been possible without the staff that remained the engine room of our successes in recent times.
“We are very much aware of the huge contributions of our staff in ensuring that they keep KEDCO’s flag flying in terms of challenging the status quo and ensuring that all narratives are changed to reflect the positive records that are being celebrated today.
“We are not also forgetting our numerous customers across board that have stood by us and ensured that they pay their bills and do the needful in some ugly scenarios by protecting and reporting cases of vandalism, power theft, and illegal connections amongst others.
According to him, everyone in KEDCO is a member of the team driving the fastest growing customer-centric company in Nigeria as far as power distribution is concerned.
The Kano DisCo boss admitted that KEDCO had some challenges but turned those challenges into raw materials to ensure that the company got better and poised for greater heights.
“We have been through some challenges but with the help of God we have been able to surmount all stumbling blocks and come out strong and viable.
“Tremendous achievements have been made in our operations, reinforcement of our network base, acquiring new equipment and upgrading our system to meet up with the demands of our numerous customers.
“Innovatively, we have been able to build good relations with our customers, staff and the media as key stakeholders. Our achievement in terms of where we took off and where we are now is something that worth commendation and I won’t hesitate to say happy good 6-year hearty cheers to KEDCO.
He further hinted that the new year would see a major reformation in terms of investments, customer service delivery and improvement in the maintenance culture of our equipment and replacement of old ones. We will bring to bear the advantage of technology and science on out operation in 2020. We are more committed now and that will be our gaze until we reach the zenith as directed by our vision and mission.’’
Gwamna charged the staff to be more committed as they had shown within the last six years which to him would fast-track revolutionary turn around for KEDCO.“2020 is a year full of prospect for us in KEDCO and we hope to scale up to meet up with our N4b monthly target for 2020.”
