Three out of six ships waiting to berth in Lagos ports would discharge Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said.

The remaining three ships would berth with kerosene, bulk fertilizer and bulk gas.

Thirty eight ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos from July 26 to Aug. 13.

NPA explained that the expected ships contained bulk wheat, bulk sugar, containers, base oil, bulk salt, steel products, aviation fuel, soya bean, diesel, empty containers and petrol.

At the time of filing this report, 16 ships are at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, fertilizer, bulk charcoal, empty container, containers and petrol.
