
The Federal Government will compensate victim of inferno that ravaged the Birnin-Kebbi central market in Kebbi State penultimate week.
Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Alhaji Abubakr Malami stated this while fielding question from newsmen in his country home of Birnini-Kebbi the Kebbi State capital. “Victims of inferno that destroyed the Birnin Kebbi central market would be assisted by the federal government at the appropriate time, he said.
Malami,who paid a sympathy visit to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, in Birnin Kebbi also made this submission separately at the Government House and the Palace of the Emir.
He described the fire incident as unprecedented and a great loss to traders who had invested in the economic activities that had been destroyed by the fire and called on victims to take solace in God. He called on individuals and organisations to assist the victims and pray for an end to the disaster. He said the assistance from the Federal Government would be determined by the assessment and recommendations by the state committee set up to verify the extent of loss in the inferno.
