The Senate yesterday approved the request of President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the implementation of N114 billion 2015 budget of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to March 31, 2016.

President Buhari had last month requested the Senate to extend the budget to March 31.
The Senate yesterday suspended its rule 81(6) to give the bill which was listed for second reading accelerated hearing as its passed through second and third reading.
Leading the debate on the Bill, the Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume noted that the 2015 FCT budget was approved on May 28, 2015, allowing only seven months for implementation.
