
The Bureau of Public Service Reforms in collaboration with an advocacy group has urged Nigerian to ask questions and be informed on the on-going reforms by the federal government, stating that “The primary purpose of all public service reforms must be tangible improvements in the public services experienced by citizens”. Dr. Joe Abah, Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms stated this during a one day policy dialogue meeting organized by Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) in Abuja recently.
Jaye Gaskiya a member of the group, who addressed reporters at the event lamented about the various reforms going-on in some sectors e.g. Power, Judiciary, Petroleum, transportation, Telecommunication and others, stressing that people needs to be informed and carried along so as to be able to interrogate the various reform processes, according to him “if communication is not done properly, you cannot access information.
It also called on the government agencies to seek media coverage as there are reforms government said is on-going but there are lots of disconnect according to Kolawole Banwo, A senior program officer with CISLAC, “people need to be aware and ask questions regarding the reforms”
