
A total of N12.2billion was proposed as recurrent and capital expenditure for the State House. Some of the major items of purchase include sewage truck, benches, embalming machine, wildlife animals among others accounting for the bulk of the N3.7bn capital vote. The sewage truck will cost N67million, two benches: N2 million, embalming machine: N1.65million, x- ray machine: N34.1million and a mammography machine: N41.1million.
Others items include a post mortem table: N4 million, oxygen generating plant: N70 million, massage bed: N2.1million, handcraft rowing machine worth N1.2 million, as well as two of sauna baths worth N6 million, construction of a VIP wing at the State House Clinic: N705.33 (out of total cost of N1.3 billion), completion of the extension of a dental wing: N50 million, construction of a central sterilising building: N50m and the provision of an MRI building and mortuary conversion: N17.5m.
In addition, the State House will spend N14.5million to purchase two unspecified animals, N8 million would be used to upgrade and maintain the State House zoo, while renovation of the horses’ paddock for the zoo will gulp N15million and wildlife capture equipment N5m will also be spent on the purchase of wildlife capture equipment.
Some N1.5billion is being proposed for the general upgrade of villa facilities, another N50m was budgeted for the improvement of electrical installations inside the old banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.This is despite the construction of a brand new banquet hall approved for the Villa by the Federal Executive Council in November 2012 for N2.2 billion.
