How They Share N 989 billion in August 2011

The Economic Confidential magazine provides here the distribution of a total sum of N989 billion distributed at the meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee in August 2011 in Abuja. The amount is made of N972.7 billion being the statutory and VAT allocations and N16.4 billion from domestic excess crude Naira account being difference between budget & actual which were shared to all tiers of government at the meeting. From net disbursements of statutory and VAT allocations, the highest recipients are from the oil producing states with Rivers receiving N21.7bn, Akwa Ibom N21.3bn, Delta N19.4b, and Bayelsa N12.6bn.

The highest recipients from non-oil –producing states are Lagos N17.6bn and Kano N13.2b.

The lowest recipients as revealed in the table below are Gombe N5.4bn, Nasarawa N4.9bn, Ebonyi N4.7bn and Ekiti N5.5bn. The Economic Confidential can also confirm other disbursements from the statutory allocation in August 2011. They included Federal Government which received N254.5bn, FCT Councils N2.8billion, Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) N2.8bn, and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) N6bn.
