Engr._Baba_AdamuThe name of Engr. Baba Jibrin Adamu came to the fore after the post-election crises in some part of the North when hoodlums destroyed his palatial houses and vehicle in Kaduna. A recipient of award of Distinction from International Association of Web Masters and Designers (IAWMD) while working abroad, he only returned to Nigeria few years ago when he was offered a political appointment by the government.

Though a son of former Chief Imam of Kaduna Central Mosque, the fanatics who destroyed his properties have other ulterior motives for their monstrous adventure rather than on any religion as being speculated. Politically he has been a Special adviser on Information and Communication Technology (ICT)to Architect Namadi Sambo when he was Governor of Kaduna State as well as the Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

While the pictures of the damaged properties were buzzed on popular websites and online journals, many had erroneous impressions that the assets were acquired when he was serving the government in Nigeria.Engr. Adamu had spent major part of his adult life in foreign countries where he had excelled and distinguished himself as civil engineer, webmaster, academic and businessman.

Born in the 60s, Engr. Adamu completed LEA primary school in Kaduna and GSS Makarfi, Zaria, and then moved overseas for his higher education. He has Master’s Degree (M.Sc) in Civil Engineering from the Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland in 1993, where he lectured and acquired his Doctorate degree (Ph.D) in Industrial Engineering Research (silo storage/bunker Technology) in 2000 all with Distinction.

Dr. Adamu has written many scientific papers and attended seminars all over Europe, the Americas and Israel. He was conferred with Canadian citizenship in 1998 and finally moved to Toronto, Canada in 2000, where he became the design construction chief Engineer at VegaCAD. He later acquired various Certificates in Information Technology (IT) at Centennial College in Toronto, Canada; Crisis Management & Participatory Approaches to Monitoring at Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Toronto Ontario, Canada; as well as Business Management at the Banff Academy for Business, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After which, Dr Adamu became an ICT Consultant and CEO of iNetwoks Canada, and Editor-in-Chief of Arewa-online all based in Toronto Canada.

Dr. Baba J ADAMU, PhD: was chosen by the Canadian Government for short term assignments in various International Canadian Missions such as: The Canadian Economic & Trade Mission to Africa (South Africa, Senegal & Nigeria); the Election Monitoring/Observer Missions like in Ukraine Presidential run-off elections, Dec 2004; member of the Ontario Government Strategy Group.

Dr BJ Adamu through the United Nations (UN) Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR POCI), New York, USA acquired Certificates on Global Terrorism, on Peacekeeping & International Conflict Resolution and UN working Systems, 2006/07. He was briefly in Nigeria in 2005 where he was the IT Advisor to the Nigerian National Political Reform Conference (Confab).

He is a member of various bodies which include: American Society of Civil Engineers; Canadian College of Teachers; International Association of Web Masters and Designers (IAWMD), USA

Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR); Greater African Reform Initiatives (GARI);Nigerian Canadian Board of Trade & Commerce, Canada; Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO); Information Technology & Telecom Group; American Premier Business Club; Nigerian Canadian Association (NCA) and Arewa Network Group (ANG).

In the course of his works, he has received several awards including: Award for Contribution to Vision 2010 by Earnest Shonekan; Award in Recognition of Outstanding Contribution and Performance to Human Resource by Professional Institute, 2003; Golden Web Awardfrom IAWMD North America for iNetworks Canada (2001-2002); Best of Ontario Gold Award Winnerin Design and IT deployment by IAWMD, (2001); Merit Award from the Conflict/Constitution Drafting Committee ANCP and Golden Web Awardfrom IAWMD North America for Arewa-online 2003-2004.

Before his appointment by the government of Nigeria, he was also Editor-in-Chief Arewa-online and CEO, President, iNetworks Canada, Inc. all in Canada. He is happily married.
