Gov. Shekarau Pledges Improved Power, Economic Stability

GOVERNOR of Kano State and presidential candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, has restated his determination to ensure power and macro-economic stability, agriculture and infrastructure development in Nigeria if voted to power in next month’s general elections.

He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) g overnment has since 1999 made countless promises to improve power supply but has failed to deliver it, despite several billions of naira spent on the project.

He urged Nigerians, especially youths, to remain calm and patriotic, and promised to pay attention to all the sectors of the economy, especially education, “which standard continues to drop due to bad governance.”

Governor Shekarau said one of the major reasons the nation’s economy has not picked up, despite its enormous potential, is the lack of required infrastructure, especially regular electric power which has eluded Nigerians and to which the PDP administration has been unable to find a solution.
